Denatured alcohol fuel (also known as Bioethanol) is a wholly renewable source of energy that is made from agricultural products such as sugar, potatoes, beetroot, and corn, to name a few. It is essentially like consumable grain alcohol except that it has an added agent that is used to denature the fuel, or make it unfit for human consumption. The only emissions produced from burning this type of fuel are heat, water vapor (steam), and low levels of carbon dioxide (CO2). Denatured alcohol can be found in local hardware stores, and can be burned in any portable fire feature. However, certain Bioethanol fuels (like Brasa fuel) are specially formulated for use in ventless fire features. We recommend using these fuels for superior efficiency and flame vibrancy.
