How to make perfect crepes


Cooking crepes can be a very easy and enjoyable process once you've learned the proper cooking techniques. Whether your using an electric or gas crepe griddle or simply just a crepe pan, knowing the proper cooking techniques will make all the difference when it comes to making the perfect crepes.

How to cook with a crepe maker machine


Using a crepe maker is a great way to cook the perfect crepes. Ensuring you know how to properly cook with your crepe maker will make all the difference in make the perfect, professional quality crepes. Simply follow the steps below to make the perfect crepes on your Krampouz Crepe Maker.
1. Turn on the machine and heat the crepe griddle to 518 degrees Fahrenheit (270 degrees Celsius). A hot cooking surface is crucial to cooking crepes.
2. Once the cooking surface is heated to cooking temperature, usually in about 10 minutes, add a spoonful of oil to the cooking surface and evenly spread over the entire surface.
3. Let the oil heat for five minutes and repeat the previous step again 8 more times (yes, this process takes some time).
4. If the cooking surface sticks, mix egg yolk with a spoon of oil and spread over the cooking surface at cooking temperature with a paper towel (Be careful not to burn yourself).
5. Place the spreader on the cooking surface and pour a ladle of batter on the cooking surface. Take the spreader and evenly spread the batter over the entire cooking surface.
6. When using a traditional wooden spreader, pour the batter to the left side of the of the cooking surface and use the spreader to evenly spread the batter over the entire cooking surface using short movements.
7. Once the batter is evenly spread over the cooking surface, wait until the batter becomes dry on the top and then flip over. Cook for about five seconds and that's it, you have cooked the perfect crepe.

How to use a crepe pan


Using a crepe pan is very similar. The key to successfully making the perfect crepe when using a pan on a stove is to make sure the pan is hot. Simply follow the following steps and you too can successfully make perfect crepes right in your own kitchen.
1. Make sure the pan is hot! Heat the pan and drop a few drops of water on the pan. If the water instantly turns to steam, the pan is ready.
2. Season the pan. Melt some butter in the pan and make sure the entire surface of the pan is covered.
3. Use a portion scoop, preferably a one ounce ladle to make sure that each crepe you make is of a consistent thickness, and drop the batter in the pan and evenly spread over the entire surface of the pan.
4. Watch for the top of the batter to turn dry. When the batter is no longer runny, flip the crepe over.
5. Since the crepe was cooked almost entirely on one side, count to 5 after flipping the crepe and you're done.
6. Add some parchment paper to your countertop and set the cooked crepes on the paper for a convenient and clean place to keep your crepes until serving. If you're not going to eat all the crepes at that time, simply roll the crepes up in the parchment paper and place in the freezer for later enjoyment.
